We submitted Suffocate to the Austin Art-house Film Festival a few months ago. Unfortunately, it was not selected to screen, but it was awarded Semi-Finalist. The festival took place in Austin, Texas the weekend of October 20th.
In the previous update, we had posted that Suffocate had been officially selected to screen at Flicks Fiesta in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Since then we were notified that Suffocate had been nominated for "Best Editing" and "Best Experimental Video". We were thrilled to hear that we ended up winning "Best Experimental Video." They were kind enough to send us a picture of when we won the award. Below is a picture of the festival curators announcing it as well as an updated poster with the new laurels!
We are super grateful and humbled by all these awards. It's awesome to see people in different countries like this short film. It just goes to show that the emotion behind this story is universal.
